AkashiDocs
Quickstart

For humans (CLI)

One file, akashi.mjs. Find a tool, read its contract and run it from a terminal, paying per call in test USDC.

1. Download

The CLI is a single file. It needs Node.js 20 or later and nothing else.

curl -fsSLO https://useakashi.xyz/akashi.mjs
node akashi.mjs

With no command it prints its help.

2. Find and read a tool (free)

node akashi.mjs discover "weather in Lagos"
node akashi.mjs inspect openweather/current

discover prints ranked candidates. inspect prints the tool's description, input JSON Schema, output schema, price and example. Output is JSON, so you can pipe it to jq.

3. Add a wallet

Runs are paid in test USDC on Base Sepolia. Use a new key that holds nothing else.

export AKASHI_PRIVATE_KEY=0x$(node -e "console.log(require('crypto').randomBytes(32).toString('hex'))")
node akashi.mjs wallet

wallet prints the address, the network and the spend caps. Send test USDC to that address from faucet.circle.com (pick Base Sepolia). No ETH is needed.

4. Run a tool (paid)

node akashi.mjs run openweather/current --input '{"city":"Lagos"}'

For a larger input, put it in a file:

echo '{"query": "solid-state battery startups", "limit": 5}' > in.json
node akashi.mjs run firecrawl/search --file in.json

The CLI prints the HTTP status, the result and a receipt:

{
  "status": 200,
  "body": { "service": "tool-router", "endpoint": "openweather/current", "found": true, "data": { "…": "…" } },
  "receipt": {
    "paid": true,
    "transaction": "0x…",
    "payer": "0x…",
    "network": "eip155:84532",
    "via": "pocket"
  },
  "ms": 2140
}

receipt.transaction is the settlement on Base Sepolia: open https://sepolia.basescan.org/tx/<transaction>. receipt.via says how the run reached the backend: pocket (a Pocket relay) or direct. If the run failed, paid is false and the exit code is 1.

The CLI reference covers every command, flag and environment variable. To use the same file from an AI agent, see For AI agents (MCP).
